Subsidy from Province of Drenthe

The Executive Council of the Province of Drenthe is making a €6 million grant available to the Greenwise Campus Foundation for the realization of Greenwise Campus in Emmen. In 2021, Provincial States decided to reserve the amount of €6 million from the Investment Agenda. That amount will now be made available.

Innovation centre and development of training paths

The subsidy is mainly intended for the renovation and equipping of the innovation centre in the former bus depot in Emmen and partly for the development of training courses and knowledge development. In Greenwise Campus, companies, educational organisations and governments join forces and work together on green and smart solutions to concrete issues.

Commissioner Willemien Meeuwissen: "Greenwise Campus must become the place where innovation, research and education come together. Where students at MBO, HBO and WO work together with entrepreneurs on the issues of today and tomorrow. The cooperation between companies and the various levels of education in the innovation centre contributes to maintaining and strengthening the innovative power in the region. It also offers students the opportunity to work with highly advanced machinery and new technologies. Studying and working in Emmen and the region will thus become even more attractive."
